IVF Pregnancy Rates

Bluegrass Fertility Center Pregnancy Rates for James W. Akin, MD

Listed in the table below are our most current pregnancy rates. This information is based on patients who underwent an oocyte retrieval with a subsequent embryo transfer. The pregnancy rate and miscarriage rate is based on the presence of cardiac activity at the 6.5 week obstetrical ultrasound.

This pregnancy information is different from that listed on the Center for Disease Control (CDC) site in that it is the most current year. Other differences are that the CDC rates are calculated on live births per cycle start. We will not have live birth information for another year, but with that being said, most patients with a heartbeat at 6.5 weeks go on to deliver. Also, a small percentage of patients starting stimulation do not make it to either egg retrieval or subsequent embryo transfer.
